In this installation at the Library at the American Academy of Rome, 100 strips of paper with the phrase “the landscape beckons” were placed randomly within books. The piece suggests the corporal enjoyment of the land and questions what is a landscape. Could it be the memory of the land?

Each piece is numbered as a series and will be discovered over years, decades, centuries or millennia.
